Quoted at Holden:

"Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time.

We are the ones we've been waiting for.

About Us

In 2007, the Holden School celebrated a 30 year history of providing high quality special education, counseling and support services to adolescents. As of July 1, 2007 Holden School merged with COMPASS, Inc. COMPASS is also proud of a 30 year history in special, alternative education. In addition, COMPASS operates a variety of programs that help families, provide scholarships and more. With our combined 60 years of experience we will be able to offer more than ever to our students.

We help students who are referred to us by public school districts when their needs are not met in other settings. Our students represent a variety of cultures and neighborhoods in and around Boston. We work with students as individuals; building on strengths and addressing weaknesses. As required by special education law, tuition is paid by the school districts. The school uses additional funds, provided by grants and private donors, to supplement required services with arts, sports, computer skills and more. Learn more...

Become A Supporter

Every student excels in something: we work hard to find the something that helps each student shine! Donations from individuals and corporate sponsors allow us to offer classics beyond the most basic curriculum. Thanks to your support we can broaden our students' horizons and offer them courses in art, drama, music, percussion, photography, cooking, and more. Adulthood preparation and service learning programs help students prepare for life beyond high school.
