James M. Tierney
Board start date: October 1999
Work Experience: Jim serves as the Special Counsel to the Director of the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA), the planning and economic development office for the City of Boston. Prior to his work at the BRA, Jim practiced law at the Boston office of Holland & Knight LLP in the litigation and public law departments. Before his legal career, Jim worked for a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington D.C. and for a political consulting firm in Chicago.

Michael W. Byrnes, Jr.

Lynn M. McDowell

Work Experience: As office and human resource manager for New England Securities and Berkeley Investments, Lynn coordinated human resources, administrative and public relations activities.  With more than 12 years experience, she brings expertise in areas of staff and organization development, employee relations, compensation and benefits and event planning and administrative projects.  Prior to joining Berkeley, she was employed by the Boston Latin School Foundation, coordinating a volunteer network of 60 Class Challenge.

Jennifer Breneisen
Board start date: December 2003
Work Experience: Jen has over 10 years of experience in the education and human services industry. Jen also has extensive experience in event production and planning through her work with Event 360, Inc. and the Breast Cancer 3-Day. She was the Program Director for YouthCare MGH, a nonprofit serving youth with emotional, behavioral and developmental disorders. Jen has worked closely with schools and other educational programs to maximize their services by providing training and consultation, as well as supervising a therapeutic after-school and summer program. Jen previously worked as Assistant Program Director for RESPOND, Inc. a domestic violence agency that serves the greater Boston area. She also taught Social Studies, provided counseling services, and coordinated the School-to-Work program at the Holden School.

Work Experience: Christine has been an attorney with the Boston law firm of Hanify & King, P.C. since 2000. She is a member of the firm's Business and Real Estate Group, where she represents clients in business and real estate transactions, including commercial lending transactions and commercial lease negotiations. Prior to joining Hanify & King, P.C. Christine was an attorney with the Providence law firm of McGovern, Noel & Benik, Inc. in a similar practice area.

Judith E. Hourihan

Work Experience: Judy is currently a self-employed consultant, specializing in computer training and web design. From 1991-2001, she was a Senior Software Engineer, working in various technical support and consulting positions for the California-based database company, Sybase Inc. Following a move to Charlestown, MA, she taught basic computer classes for senior adults and coordinated the after-school program for 6-12 year olds at Mishawum Park Computer Learning Center.

J.J. Gilmartin

Work Experience: J.J. is a Director of Content Services at the Boston office of Euro RSCG 4D, an international digital and direct marketing agency. He works with a broad range of clients developing and implementing online marketing programs, including website development, loyalty campaigns, and advertising. Prior to joining Euro's predecessor (Circle.com) J.J. worked at Young&Rubicam and Ziff-Davis Publishing.

Magali Olander

Work Experience: Since obtaining her Masters in Social Work in 2003, Magali has worked in the field of human services on behalf of various groups, including children and families, chronically mentally ill adults, and incarcerated men and women in both Massachusetts and California. Magali currently works in Somerville, MA, as a social worker, with and on behalf of children. Her work includes individual, family and group therapy, school consultations, and community based outreach. Prior to pursuing her Masters, Magali worked as a corporate trainer for Thomson & Thomson of Quincy, MA.
